We welcome our new client, The University of Edinburgh
The InPlace Team and QuantumIT are pleased to welcome The University of Edinburgh as our new client. Edinburgh is the fifth Scottish university and first of the ‘Ancient Universities’ to select InPlace as their student Placement Management solution.
Steeped in history, the university first opened its doors to students in 1583. As time has passed, the ancient establishment has become renowned for its cutting edge research and innovative thinking. Now over 400 years on, Edinburgh attracts over 39,000 students from across the world for undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Investing in real world skills
An important objective for the university is for its graduates to be equipped to manage global challenges – economic, social and political. As such, time and resource have been channeled into developing ‘real world skills’ via Placements and Work Integrated Learning. This initiative has grown as Edinburgh’s students have expressed importance in gaining industry experience throughout their degree.
InPlace is being initially deployed to support and manage Study and Work Abroad Placements. In parallel to this, Career Staff will be using InPlace to handle internships and opportunities for students studying and working overseas.
Looking ahead, Edinburgh will deploy InPlace across its three colleges and twenty schools, including Medicine.
We look forward to our continued relationship with The University of Edinburgh.
